Not a fan of McCain here. Was less than happy with his attempts to secure Amnesty for what are criminals in America's 12-20 million illegal aliens. Shut down the jobs magnet, secure our border with Mexico, and employ local law enforcement across the entire nation to round up those here illegally, and send them home...OUCH, am I being politically incorrect? Couple this with McCain's support of George Bush, and his flawed war plan in Iraq, and not going to go out of my way to support the man. That being said, find Thompson's Swift Boat attack on the man WAY OUT OF BOUNDS. The man served, the man was a prisoner of war, so leave him alone. Remembering the Bush use of Kerry's service to his country, looking at Rumsfeld, Cheney and Bush's own lack of admiral service, and find myself wondering now what Thompson has really ever done in serving America. Besides, do we really want a FRED in the White House?
McCain Questioner Was Thompson Donor
COLUMBIA, S.C. -- The man who flustered White House hopeful John McCain last week by questioning his standing among fellow Vietnam prisoners of war was a contributor to rival Fred Thompson's campaign. Ed Nowokunski, a retired Air Force major and fighter pilot, gave $500 to Thompson's testing-the-waters committee in July, Federal Election Commission records show. He also gave $1,000 to President Bush a month after his bitter 2000 primary defeat of McCain in South Carolina, and again in 2004 when he wasn't opposed.
